🎶 Love to sing but have limited time? The Open the Gates for Neilah 2025 Bootcamp at Congregation Beth Tikvah is your chance to participate in one of the most moving musical moments of the High Holy Days—without a long-term choir commitment.
The Neilah service, held at the conclusion of Yom Kippur, features some of the most hauntingly beautiful and spiritually uplifting music of the season. The melodies blend both traditional and contemporary Jewish themes, culminating in the final sounding of the shofar and the rich sensory experience of Havdalah—with its candlelight, sweet spices, and sacred soundscape.
This year, we’re offering a special opportunity: the Neilah Bootcamp. This unique program is perfect for congregants who enjoy singing and want to get involved in a time-bound, focused way. No need to commit year-round—just come ready to rehearse, learn, and perform at Neilah!
-Rehearsals: August 5, 7, 12, and 14 (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
-Time: 7:00–8:30 PM
-Location: Congregation Beth Tikvah
-Participation Requirement: Attend at least 3 of the 4 rehearsals
-Performance: Join the Shironim and full choir for the Neilah service at Yom Kippur
-Support Materials: Sheet music and audio recordings provided for at-home practice
This is a perfect entry point for anyone who has considered joining the choir but couldn’t commit long-term. You’ll be supported by experienced Shironim members and welcomed into a deeply meaningful musical experience.
