Adult Education at Beth Tikvah
At Congregation Beth Tikvah, our Adult Learning program offers a rich array of educational opportunities – from guest lectures and panel discussions to classes on Israel and film screenings, there’s something for everyone!
Our goal is to foster a vibrant learning environment that not only enriches knowledge but also celebrates the joy of living a Jewish life.
Many of our programs are free, with some requiring a nominal fee, and all are open to the entire community—whether you’re a member or not.
Ongoing Adult Learning Programs
- Sunday Evening Study Group: Explore Jewish history through books and films with bi-monthly, online, participant-led discussions suitable for all levels of interest.
- Shishim Group: Gather with our 60+ affinity group for community, learning, and connection.
- Mini-Courses: Our Beth Tikvah leaders and clergy lead mini-courses on diverse topics, including Torah, Talmud, Jewish music, and Hasidic tales. These courses are designed to expand your knowledge and inspire further exploration of Jewish texts and culture.
- Women’s Torah Study: This group meets on the first Monday of each month to explore the role of women in the Torah. Led by Morissa Freiberg, it’s an opportunity for meaningful discussion and discovery.
- Online Torah Study: Dive into the weekly Torah portion every Saturday morning via Zoom from 9 AM to 10 AM.
- Library Minyan: Meet periodically throughout the year on Saturday mornings for this informal & intimate prayer experience with Rabbi Rick Kellner. We meet at 10 AM in the library for minyan followed by Torah study and lunch.

Resler Scholar-in-Residence Weekend
The annual Resler Scholar-in-Residence Weekend honors Jack Resler and his family, who generously contributed to making our synagogue a reality.
Sponsored by the Adult Education Committee, this weekend typically takes place in late spring or early summer and is free and open to the public.
Each year, the weekend brings in a renowned scholar to inspire and engage our community in a weekend of learning.
Adult Education Committee
Our Adult Education Committee actively plans and organizes a dynamic slate of learning experiences for our congregation.
From Torah study to Hebrew classes, book discussions, and retreats, our committee welcomes new ideas and participants who are eager to learn and grow.
